BART Transbay Tube Closure: August 1-2 and September 5-7

Current as of: July 17, 2015 3:54PM

BART will not provide transbay train service between West Oakland and Embarcadero stations during the weekends of August 1-2 and the three-day Labor Day weekend, September 5-7, in order to perform critical maintenance work near the Transbay Tube. In addition, the West Oakland BART Station will be closed during the maintenance work.

Please plan ahead, use alternate forms of transportation, and avoid unnecessary transbay trips.

Check back at alert.511.org for updates on travel alternatives and other service changes.

Regular and Special Transit Services During the Transbay Tube Closures

BART Bus Bridge

During both weekend closures, BART will operate a bus bridge between 19th Street Station in Downtown Oakland and the Transbay Temporary Terminal in San Francisco. The bus bridge, offered at no cost to riders, will operate in both directions. However, BART advises that the bus bridge should only be used by those who have no other transportation options, and transbay riders using the service may experience a 1-2 hour delay in their trip.
